2D CAD in, semantic IFC4 out, deterministic — and every judgment the pipeline made is visible, reviewable and overridable, not a black box.
Structura converts a set of DXF sheets into an IFC4 Reference View model with named storeys, classified elements, rooms and property sets. You review what it found against crops of the drawing it found them in, correct what is wrong, and export a file your BIM tools already understand.
Every IFC GUID is derived from what the element is and where it sits — its geometry and role — not from the order it happened to be written in. Re-export after a review edit and the untouched elements keep the identity your model server already knows.
Each release is graded against fixtures whose ground truth is built straight from the generating parameters and never through the pipeline, with per-class precision and recall, dimensional error, and thresholds held in a versioned file. The method is on the page next to the numbers.
Where a drawing is silent, the pipeline applies a default — and records it with its basis, its scope and what it affects. The sample model carries 75 of them, and they travel with the model instead of living in someone's head.
Floor plans give the footprint: walls, openings, columns, stairs and room regions. Elevation sheets give the vertical story: storey heights, sill and head levels. The two are reconciled into one stack of storeys.
A mesh export instead of line work: surfaces are segmented, storeys measured off the geometry, and the same element classes reconstructed — including faceted roofs, which the plans route cannot see.
Anything else is refused at intake with a typed reason rather than a half-built model.
